The first song..

So after a year or so of purely learning songs by other songwriters, I've decided to actually give writing a go myself. I'm pleasantly surprised by what I've come up with so far but when it comes to lyrics I can't quite think of the right words to say...! What I want to say always comes out wrong or sounds far too honest and naive. I want to keep the honesty, because that's what I want my music to be about, but it's far too simply put at the moment. I need to learn how to turn a phrase...

Anyway, here's what I have so far...I've given it a working title of "Again".

I think I've walked this road before

It's nearly morning and I'm knocking at your door

Just to see if you'd take a walk with me

I can't believe we're here again

The way we're acting's like we're more than 'just good friends'
